Press and Peel Blue

Press and Peel is a transfer film used to transfer photocopied and laser printed images onto metal. It is an ideal technique for artists who want to transfer detailed, graphic or textured images onto an etching plate but have not got access to a UV light box and do not want to use chemicals. It uses the acid resistant properties of laser photocopier ink to transfer graphic images onto a metal etching plate, adhering those images using heat from an iron. The image area applied to the film is subsequently transferred to the copper board, along with the high quality resist (blue). The film is removed and resulting surface (copper etc) is ready to etch in ferric chloride. Each sheet measures 28.5 x 21.5cm.
