Bamboo Baren

The Bamboo Baren is perfect for any printmaker starting out. This economy baren has a diameter of 10cm and the bamboo skin references the traditional Japanese material used. Barens are used to hand print relief blocks by applying even pressure to the reverse of the paper. We would usually recommend lighter weight papers for hand printing. A little Camellia oil helps prolong the life the bamboo leaves and has been used for centuries in East Asia.
