This full colour book celebrates the printmaking works of Gail Mallatratt. Making Nowhere Somewhere takes us through Gail’s reactions to her family background and formative years, and her many ‘meanderings’. It provides a legacy of her work and with a re-evaluation of her prints, Mallatratt has forged a new response to her own work.

In so much of the work, there is a story waiting to be told. There is a sense of occasion and an edgy energy about it. Using colour in a dramatic and often surreal way, Mallatratt captures a situation, a place or some aspect of history; making the familiar seem startlingly new.
