Plastic Baren

The Plastic Baren has a diameter of 11cm and is very popular in workshops due to its ease of use. This baren has a greater durability than the smaller bamboo version and the dense raised semi-spheres are arranged in a spiral to support fine sliding. This baren is ideal for beginners and intermediate printmakers. Barens are used to hand print relief blocks by applying even pressure to the reverse of the paper. We would usually recommend lighter weight papers for hand printing.
